Recent League Changes

2008

1.  NO RECALL START.  This means that if a swimmer leaves a fraction of a second early on the start, that the heat will swim and the swimmer will be DQ’d at the end of the race (just as is done for relay infractions).  HOWEVER, if a swimmer loses his balance, for example, the starter will say STAND UP and no DQ will be issued and the race will be restarted.  In other words, your starter needs to know that it is he who is responsible for judging a true false start (leaving a fraction of a second early) vs releasing the heat (saying STAND UP) and trying the start again.  This will be critical for the swimmers to understand and for the starter to be aware of.  This brings us in compliance with USA swimming rules on the matter.

2.  All backstroke flags MUST be positioned exactly 5 meters from each end of the pool.

3.  Please check the 2008 meet schedule.  In 2008 the first meet will be on June 12th with two meets the following week.  We hope this will ease the startup time for each team as well as avoiding school closing conflicts.
